However, yesterday, people’s love & admiration for their favorite sport saw a new high. In general, wedding ceremonies are deemed as a special occasion & the focus stays on the bride & groom, who hog all the limelight amidst the pomp & show of their wedding. Nevertheless, yesterday, during one such auspicious occasion, it was all about the excitement & delight of the IPL final.
A video is going viral on social media where people can be seen watching the dying stages of CSK’S run-chase in anticipation of who’s going to have the last laugh. The game was being telecast on Star Sports 1 Hindi & the guests there started cheering when Lasith Malinga marked his run-up to bowl the final delivery of the heart-racing thriller to Shardul Thakur.
Malinga hit Thakur on the pads &the on-field umpire had absolutely no doubts in raising his finger. The veteran needed to defend two runs off the final ball & he didn’t lose his cool. After Mumbai won, the guests jumped off their seats in jubilation, dancing, & whistling. Such was the moment that they couldn’t be blamed for forgetting that they went to attend a wedding ceremony.
As far as the game is concerned, Mumbai won the toss & elected to bat first. However, they could only manage 149 runs in their 20 overs. Shane Watson gave them an almighty scare during the run-chase with a knock of 80 runs, but Mumbai didn’t allow the pressure to unnerve them.
